“Rose Colored Glasses” – The Collection

You’d be remiss to say you’ve heard a song more anthemic than “Rose Colored Glasses” by The Collection. Brimming with electric energy, this track checks every box in the folk-rock genre. It has an organic, live sound. It has an emotionally gratifying message. The vocals are well-performed and unfiltered. If you’re a Mumford and Sons or Lumineers fan, you’re going to eat this one up.

We’re greeted with an arrestingly gorgeous wave of harmonies. Each chord blasts through the mix, pausing only to let the reverb and echo decay. It’s a perfect way to catch the listener’s ear and keep them engaged. “Seems like you’re back upon your own legs / Seems like you’re finding your own voice,” the singer croons with a bright yet gentle timbre. A few toggling guitar chords ring out over a soft, anticipatory hi-hat groove. Tiny flourishes of synth peek through just before the pre-chorus, which employs a thicker accumulation of textures to build tension for the hook.

“So give me those rose-colored glasses / I will remember this any way that I wish,” the singer wails. The melody is repetitive, classically shaped, and overall infectious. The instruments form this wall of harmony, filling the sound with a climatic, powerful vitality. Everything about it begs to be sung along with. One can only imagine what it sounds like live.

Give The Collection a listen! You won’t regret familiarizing yourself with “Rose Colored Glasses.” You might just gain a new favorite song or even a new favorite band.
