We had the pleasure of interviewing June, and here’s what she had to say:
Q: Did you have a clear direction/idea of how you wanted “Rest Up” to sound and the effect you wanted it to have on listeners before you started creating it?
JUNE: I knew instantly with the creation of “Rest Up” I wanted to experiment with my sound. We went with a Jersey vibe for this record!
Q: Could you describe what a typical studio session for this song was like?
JUNE: A typical studio session for Rest Up consisted of some imaginative creativity to reach completion.
Q: What projects are you currently working on?
JUNE: I have an exciting collaboration and personal projects coming soon, that I can’t wait to put out in 2023.
Q: At what point did you know you would become a musician?
JUNE: In 2016, my first studio session changed my perception of my career’s future. Being a musician was all I could see for the future from that point forward.
Q: Could you possibly see yourself doing something else if you weren’t a musician?
JUNE: Philanthropy is something I’m very passionate about that many people would not know about me. I incorporate philanthropy into my musical career daily and will continue too.
Q: What would you like your music to represent or mean to people?
JUNE: I want my music to represent shifts in my life/story as that translates into my songwriting. Ultimately, I want people to relate to my music in hopes that it connects personally to them.
