“i’ve been thinking” – Ava Della Pietra

Sitting here, crying over “i’ve been thinking” by Ava Della Pietra. That’s my current state as this charming, straightforward melodic song hit me in places I didn’t even know existed in my heart. This one, as personal as it is to Ava, is going to touch a lot of people, and then make a lot more head to Facebook and type in an old friend’s name.

Ava Della Pietra comes out of the gate with a delightful delivery, one that sounds like sunshine on a Spring day. Then she hits you with a dose of reality as she goes from upbeat banter to a direct narrative that tells listeners exactly what this song is. It’s that feeling of looking back at a lost friend and wondering if it’s the memory of them you loved because the past always feels magical, or if they were someone worth keeping in touch with, and that sort of not guilt – but regret for having not put forth the effort to remain in their life.

For Ava Della Pietra, this was when she was in grade school but this is an instance that many will be able to see examples of in their own lives whether it was a friend from your hometown or someone you used to work with. We all have at least one person we let go of who may have been the friend we needed to keep around. I certainly wanted to go and reach out after listening to “i’ve been thinking,” but I held off to listen to the song a few more times.

Musically, you can hear the Broadway in her voice. Ava Della Pietra does not hold back and has a true command of her vocals, and still, in her teens – she presents her music with a dose of youthful wonder. Her latest is the second single from her upcoming debut EP set for a May 2022 release. To hear not only “i’ve been thinking” but “power of you” and more, make sure to check Ava Della Pietra out on all major music and streaming platforms today.
