“Foxy” – Caroline Loveglow

When one puts a guitar in the hand of a child just a few years from falling in love with poetry, music will eventually be the path they start walking down. In the case of Caroline Loveglow, she ran down that path lined with bedroom sessions and open mics. Today, the singer-songwriter has found herself creating electronica meets Lo-fi pop on her debut LP, ‘Strawberry,’ which features her latest, “Foxy.”

As soon as play was pressed, “Foxy” took me back to somewhere between the late ‘90s and the early ‘00s. There was something cinematic about it that made me think, this without a doubt could have been alongside The Verve on the ‘Cruel Intentions’ soundtrack. There’s this airy electronica going on in the music, but Caroline Loveglow balances that out with this sort of alternative indie-pop vocal. It’s a song that fans of Neggy Gemmy and Mr Twin Sister would want to add to their favorite playlists. As is the whole record as Caroline Loveglow presents her style, craft, and way with words wonderful across all eight tracks including “Happy Happy” and the addicting, “Zenosyne.”

Caroline Loveglow has been busy since the start of the new year. Not only did she drop ‘Strawberry,’ but she also shared an EP, ‘Blue Arcade.’ All those years spent in her room with her guitar have led to this point, and it seems like she’s full steam ahead from this point on.
