“Dear Love” – Hey Violet

Hey Violet’s latest single “Dear Love” is the kind of unassuming song that takes you by surprise. With beautifully layered production and emotive vocals that are up front and center, “Dear Love” is an engaging, entrancing track that you won’t be able to forget.

“Dear Love” begins with a complex, intoxicating intro that swirls into existence before launching into the verse. The vocals are sweet and definitive as lead singer Rena Lovelis asks “dear love, where have you been? Why did you break my heart again?” The instrumentation builds with bold beats that support the intensifying verse while the lyrics become defiant and fiery with a flippant and fierce delivery. The orchestration rises and falls while retaining an intoxicating presence; the responsive nature of the accompaniment adds an immersive and magnetic element to the encompassing track.

Based in Los Angeles, Hey Violet was formed by sisters Rena and Nia Lovelis with their friend Casey Moreta. A single off of their EP Problems that was released May 14th, “Dear Love” is an incredibly vibrant, exciting experience that showcases the band’s unique perspective and vision along with their undeniable talent and instincts. With this release, it is apparent that Hey Violet has only great things ahead.
