“Daydream” – Caroline Roman

“Leave me alone”

This line comes early in “Daydream” from Caroline Roman, but each and every time I played this one on repeat I could not help but think, “Same girl, same.” Lyrically, this song is like the great-granddaughter of Monica’s hit from ‘93, “Don’t Take It Personal (Just One of Dem Days).” Both being songs that just tell it like it is, only Caroline Roman’s is not living in the R&B realm, instead, she delivers her own message of mental strife with delightful mid-tempo indie pop.

Caroline Roman started recording music several years ago when she was only 13-years-old. There are plenty of middle school students who start to get interested in music at that age, but to take it a step further and do something with that interest? That shows next-level tenacity on her part and highlights the fact that she has been driven since day one. Fast forward to today and Caroline is on the heels of her third single release of 2021 with “Daydream,” a captivating pop track that will have fans of everyone from Olivia Rodrigo to Conan Gray.

In a year (going on two) that has put an unbelievable amount of weight on the shoulders of many, this song is a reminder that we are all going through similar situations. With that, think of this song as a companion to get you through the storm, and check out “Daydream” from Caroline Ramon. It is available now on all major music and streaming platforms.
