Excuse me, I’ve been a little in my feels lately as I’ve moved across the country away from the warmth of California I’ve called home for over 30 years. Match that with ‘Insecure’ entering its final season around the time of my move and yeah, songs like “Constant Pay Stub” by Peachcurls featuring Sandu Ndu of Bells Atlas, and Tezo. Why? It’s not because this song is as emotional as an Adele record, it’s just that it reminds me of a California-set scene in ‘Insecure.’
Yes, as soon as “Constant Pay Stub” started, I imagined an intro montage of the hit HBO series. That’s because when it comes to musical wonder, that show does not fail to highlight the best tracks. It’s how I discovered SZA, and I’m sure if there were to be another season, “Constant Pay Stub” would have fit in just fine amongst the excellent cascade they usually have.
Ironically enough, Peachcurls isn’t from the west coast. Peachcurls doesn’t even reside out east. Nope, smack dab in Ohio. Despite the locale, this talented hip-hop artist created a song that grabs one’s attention in an instant. On top of all of that, it has this great message about time continues to move and the change that inevitably comes with it.
Peachcurls was not alone in this, Sandu Ndu and Tezo helped round “Constant Pay Stub” out. This is one of almost a dozen new singles Peachcurls has dropped this year alone. To hear all of his music, including “Constant Pay Stub,” check him out now on all major music and streaming sites.
