“Easy” by Ben Provencial

Q: I love how catchy “Easy” is! How did the idea for this song come about?

PROVENCIAL: I wrote the song about a harsh and toxic breakup I went through a very long time ago. In general, I’d say it’s about accepting the end of a relationship & also wishing it could have ended more cordially.

Q:  Could you walk me through the production process for “Easy”? What was your favorite and least favorite aspect of this process?

PROVENCIAL:  I have to give credit where credit is due, Joe Avio out of LA handled all of the production. While I’m a great guitar player, he even played the guitar parts on this track. I think my favorite part of the process was watching Joe go crazy with the bridge section of the song. I didn’t dislike any part of the creation process for this song, everything actually came together pretty naturally and quickly was super refreshing.

Q: What has been one of the most significant moments of your musical journey so far?

PROVENCIAL: There are really so many. To name a few; moving to Los Angeles to pursue music mid-last year was pretty big, opening up for John K in Atlanta back in 2021, and my first song (NOT ALRIGHT) just hit a million streams on Spotify.

Q: You mentioned opening for John K in Atlanta back in 2021. What did you take away from that experience?

PROVENCIAL: John was really inspiring and encouraged me after the show to keep pushing forward with my music career. It helped remind me that most of the people I look up to got to where they are through hard work and self-belief.

Q: If you could only listen to one album for the rest of the year, what would it be? Why?

PROVENCIAL: That’s a terribly hard question to answer. I guess (in this EXACT MOMENT) I’ll go with Blonde by Frank Ocean.

Q: What do you do when you AREN’T working on music?

PROVENCIAL: Appreciate the love and go out and do something that makes you feel uncomfortable.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to say to you supporters?

PROVENCIAL: I plan to drop the most amount of music this year than any other year yet. Volume is the name of my game this year! Also if you like my music please give me a follow on instagram and Spotify!
