“Allergy Season” – Isabel Wood

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, it’s just allergies.”

How many times have you uttered that little white lie to someone? This all too common scenario of blaming the weather on the tears escaping our tear ducts is a familiar concept that Isabel Wood decided to put to song in her latest single, “Allergy Season.”

Inspired by the way we utilize falsities to hide our emotions, Isabel Wood started writing and from it came a song that has lyrics that pull at the heartstrings, but encased them in a sugary pop shell. So at first, if you just had this playing in the background you may miss the sincerity and seriousness in the bones of “Allergy Season.” However, once you listened closely and realized, you too have blamed a tear or two on the pollen in the air, you’d be taken aback by this song’s genius.

A genius that was pushed to fruition thanks in part to Konstantin Kersting. Isabel Wood has noted that the platinum-producer ‘absolutely nailed” every aspect behind the scenes. So don’t be surprised if the two pair up again in the future. For now though, “Allergy Season” is more than enough as its the Australian-based singer’s third single this year, following “BELOW ZERO” and “ross n rachel.”

To be emotional is to be human, and in the past year, those emotions have reached many breaking points around the world. “Allergy Season” allows listeners to feel less alone when those feelings run high, and eyes are far from dry. For those looking to heal a bit musically, check out “Allergy Season,” available now on all major music and streaming sites.
