“Millisecond” – SJ Talbot

Do you ever listen to a song and when it’s done you’re like, well, that was a great time? That is how I felt after “Millisecond” by SJ Talbot ended the first few dozen times. Layers upon layers of vocal stylings, with an infectious pop dream come true of a chorus that leaves you only craving more. That’s the sign of not only a good time, but an excellent piece of music.

There’s this deep tone that starts “Millisecond” that’s very much in line with SJ Talbot’s 2020 debut, “Envy,” that’s quite striking. Then she starts to build upon that in a way that throws back to her previous release, “Easy For Me,” a song that gave off very big Dua Lipa ‘Future Nostalgia’ vibes. SJ Talbot has taken the best of what she has done in the past, implemented those aspects into a new song but at the same time pushed herself to elevate it as the chorus has this effervescent charm to it that’s such a delight. It’s one of those choruses that was meant to hype up a crowd, and there is no doubt it will.

Aside from the music being as addicting as a sugary treat, lyrically “Millisecond” explores a sentiment many have felt in their love life. That feeling of understanding that as much as you think you’re over someone – you’d fall right back into old habits if they called, emailed, texted, or wrote a message out in the sky. “Millisecond” captures that grip some have on us, and doesn’t run from that fact.

“Millisecond” is SJ Talbot’s third single and is available now on all major music and streaming platforms.
