“Cigarette” – FLØRE

A vast array of fairy tales and romantic comedies have led many people to believe that there are not any negatives when it comes to love. Yes, you may run into a hurdle here and there but being in love is always keen. Well, that is not always the case. This is something those of us who live in reality have come to terms with. Those like FLØRE, who in her fourth single of 2021, “Cigarette,” dives into the more cataclysmic side of the matter.

Like a cigarette, love can be an addiction for some. It can also do more harm than good depending on the person and situation. This is what is displayed poetically by FLØRE in this haunting, visceral display of emotions. You know the relationship is bad, but for some reason, you cannot get enough; always promising yourself this is the last hit, the last pack – but sometimes you have to work that much harder to quit.

What FLØRE does with “Cigarette” is continue to put her signature stamp out there. Dark-hued pop with wonderfully worded language sung in such a way that it leaves people craving more. It is what made people obsess over her fall 2020 debut, ‘SUPERBLOOM,’ and why fans were more than thrilled when she started dropping singles earlier this year starting with the picture-perfect pop of “Dead Boys.”

Those ready to satisfy their own craving can check out “Cigarettes” from FLØRE. Her latest single is available now on all major music and streaming platforms.
