“Where Do We Go” – Weston Estate

“Where Do We Go” by Weston Estate is a smooth, decadent pop song that exists entirely to imbue its listeners with intense euphoria. With its vibrant guitar work and bittersweet chord progressions, it manages to convey a lot of emotion via an accessible, easily enjoyed vessel. Not to mention, the vocals are incredibly effectively delivered. You’ll be blown away by the duality of the intimate, emotional atmosphere and the meticulously built-up production.

An electric guitar arpeggiates a sentimental chord while the vocals immediately come pouring in: “I’m still findin’ meaning / In what the future holds / I wanted you to save me / From what’s outside the door.” A deep, warm vocal timbre washes over the mix. The only other texture is a cluster of harmonies performing a soft counterpart. The sparse nature of this verse allows us to connect to the lyric, and latch on the overall theme before the instrumental drama unfolds.

The chorus erupts with a splash of acoustic guitar and a simple, in-the-pocket drum groove. The rhythmic integrity amps up the energy of the song and provides a lot of dynamic satisfaction. Plus, the melody is wildly memorable, hitting the coolest, most off-kilter notes over their respective chords. It has an almost jazzy ambiance but under the trendy umbrella of alternative pop.

If this sounds like it might be up your alley, be sure to give Weston Estate a listen! “Where Do We Go” is a genuinely well-written, well-produced, and well-performed track–and there’s definitely more where that came from.
