“There’s No Way Around It” – Breaking Sad

If you ask an elder millennial who spent all their parents gave them in the early ‘00s at Hot Topic if emo music just wasn’t the same today, they’d say yes and then give you a 15-minute declaration in a faded My Chemical Romance tee. The reality is that while that era was a moment, it’s hard to deny that bands today are still carrying that torch ahead for a new generation. The truth is that as long as there are emotive artists out there who want to interlace all those feelings in with some sick guitar-driven music, we’ll always have bands like Breaking Sad and their latest, “There’s No Way Around It.”

Don’t get it twisted, this isn’t Dashboard Confessional. There are no heartfelt audible admissions, but Breaking Sad does engage in wonderfully done lyricism. Musically though, they lean more towards the alternative rock side of life. The pulsating beat that kicks it off has a little bit of a funk to it alongside the way Breaking Sad doesn’t skirt around having these great harmonies that only give way to you moving a bit more and more. It reminds me of when bands back in the day would have those one-off bands open for them that were in the Warped Tour scene enough but still had a unique flair.

“There’s No Way Around It” is Breaking Sad’s second single since the release of their 2021 debut, “Who Were You Thinking Of?” Those who crave alternative music that’s not afraid to showcase a wide array of emotions should feel free to check out both of those and keep tabs on Breaking Sad by checking them out on all major music and streaming sites today.
