“The Moment” – Chloe Echo

“The Moment” by Chloe Echo is a reassuring prayer in the form of a song that hits so good, especially when you are having your quarter-life crisis. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of the complexities of life’s transition from adolescence to adulthood, encapsulated in the poignant line, “Everybody tells you that you’re special, until the day that you turn seventeen.” At twenty-five, echo grapples with the weight of anxiety, which is extremely relatable to whoever feels like their life is spiraling apart at their age. Echo’s vocals, however, provide a comforting and soulful embrace and guide us through the labyrinth of their mind, where inner turmoil is palpable as conflicting thoughts and external influences converge. It’s a universal struggle — to distinguish intuition from the echoes of past traumas. Despite all of this, we wouldn’t want to listen to Echo’s newest song for only a moment, it’s the type that you press play over and over again.
