“The Bower Bird” – Jaewon

Singer-songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Jaewon’s genre-fusing sound is showcased within his latest album, “The Bower Bird.” The Chicago artist’s album is an introspective look into Jaewon’s innermost personal thoughts, tackling topics of addiction, heartbreak, and growing up. The meaning behind the title goes back to people comparing Jaewon to a bower bird on numerous occasions – a bird that “gathers treasures throughout the forest to attract mates.” The ups and downs of Jaewon’s life coincide with the metaphor of the bird, highlighting everyday tribulations.

Every song on “The Bower Bird” showcases Jaewon’s distinctive style – tracks like “Finger Guns” and “Dry Lighting” have a sultry, romantic vibe to them, while something like “The Egg” is a beautifully sad ballad. “The Egg” begins with a bittersweet tune played on the guitar; the slight strumming allows Jaewon’s angel-like vocals to be front and center. His vocals, echoing throughout, convey feelings of pure relaxation.

“Till’ You Don’t,” another standout track, envelops the listener in a dream-like, romantic instrumental. The interplay of guitars, keys, and saxophone creates a fairytale-like atmosphere, enhancing the emotional depth of the song. The chorus, with its floating, ethereal feeling, perfectly captures the bittersweet essence of heartbreak.

“Blood In The Pool House” takes a delightful detour from the album’s previous tracks, transporting the listener to the 1980s with its pop-inspired sound. The jangly guitars and drums, coupled with Jaewon’s clever lyrics and captivating vocals, infuse the song with a fun-loving, nostalgic vibe.

Get ready for Jaewon’s “The Bower Bird,” which will be available on major music streaming platforms beginning December 15th.
