“Stargaze” – Reality Addiction

Every other day I hear a new song that captures the enamored spirit and I think, this has to be it, right? How many other ways can a song relay these ideas of infatuation? Then I am amazed all over again when another does so in a new and invigorating way, just like Reality Addiction has done with “Stargaze.”

Reality Addiction noted it has been a while but despite the time, “Stargaze” shows no signs of a wait. Firing on all cylinders, this boisterous admission comes through with a sense of grace and poise that you would get when listening to the likes of The Fray and Augustana. Indie music that straddles the line between alternative rock and pop. Reality Addiction finds that balance as the vocals carries you through poetic moments with lines like “looked at the stars for hope” all while comparing someone to the magical ways of a night sky.

For those who immersed themselves in the indie rock scene of the 2010s, “Stargaze” is very reminiscent of that time as listening to this song took me back to the days when malls were still a viable option for a hangout, and MTV was just days away from playing their last music video. Only we did not know it. It is music that makes your ears perk, and your body sway as you fall into the audible embrace of it all.
