“Something for the Weekend” by Nick Kandler

If you’re looking for a song with chill summer vibes and amazing vocals, you should definitely give “Something for the Weekend” by emerging artist and producer Nick Kandler a listen! We had the pleasure of interviewing Nick Kandler, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: What’s the story behind “Something for the Weekend”?

KANDLER: “Something for the Weekend” is about an experience I had during a weekend in Vegas. It was actually my first time there and things went surprisingly well. Some of the story may or may not be exaggerated. Who knows lol

Q: What was your songwriting process for this song?

KANDLER: Freestyle some melodies and see what stuck, surprisingly after trying to rework certain sections, we ended up going back to the original melodies from day 1.

Q: How did you create this tune? Was it something that flowed at once or did you get like little bits stuck in your head until you created the full thing?

KANDLER: Like most songs of mine, melody comes first, lyrics second. I think the first couple of freestyle melodies were pretty close to all the melodies you hear in the actual song. The lyrics took some time to refine and get to a place where everything felt natural.

Q: What was your favorite aspect of the production process?

KANDLER: Getting to work with my collaborators Shepps and King Wizard.

Q: What do you enjoy doing when you aren’t making music?

KANDLER: I love going out to new spots, music events, and museums, and I like to travel. Especially alone.. idk why, it resets me and makes me feel unstoppable.

Q: What is one thing you’re really looking forward to achieving musically this year?

KANDLER: Showing the world what I’ve had locked away on my hard drives for so long and releasing a full body of work.
