“Real” – Maratta

When it comes to making some memorable music, Maratta is often the wizard behind the curtain. The one pulling the strings and creating the wondrous sounds as a writer and rising producer. His latest, “Real,” proved that he’s one to recognize.

Maratta noted that constructing the melodic indie dream pop ways of “Real” was very therapeutic. There was this instant connection to the lyrics as that’s where he was in the moment, and when it all came together in the studio, he felt it was something audiences from all walks of life could also relate to as it’s a poignant part in relationships that is universal.

On top of the song, Maratta created beautiful vocals that in so many ways are reminiscent of what Mariah Carey dished out in some of her biggest hits during the ‘90s. Coincidentally enough, I was actually listening to “Always Be My Baby” right before I turned my attention to Maratta’s “Real,” and I thought, is this…her? Alas, the poised pop control of the melodies throughout is the chef’s kiss to an already well-crafted song.

Love is a commonality that runs through Maratta’s releases, but so are well-defined pop beats. He’s been at it since 2019 when he dropped “Love 2 Give” and has been nonstop since. With a handful of singles out now, one can only hope “Real” is just the start in 2022. To hear all of the above and then some, check out Maratta on all major music and streaming platforms today.
