“Re-Arrange Me (ladyboy pt 2)” – Mu-Kau

“Re-Arrange Me (ladyboy pt 2)” by Mu-Kau is such a timeless type of disco-funk song. Mu-Kau’s origins date them at the start of the 2000s, but “Re-Arrange Me (ladyboy pt 2)” was re-released in 2019. Despite their vague timeline, what is clear is that this song is creatively relevant whether it is a decade ago, or just four years ago. Mu-Kau’s chorus is simplistic and to the point— “that ain’t no way to treat a lady, that ain’t no way to treat a girl.” This phrase being repeated over and over creates a hypnotic sound that is as infectious to listen to as much as it rings true. The lead singer of Mu-Kau also sounds like Sade, giving warm, rich, vocals all throughout song with a funky backdrop to get groovy to.
