Qwiet Type – “Ferris Wheel”

Take a trip into the carnival with Qwiet Type’s new atmospheric genre-crossing EDM-pop single, ‘Ferris Wheel’. Within the first seconds of the electric keys hitting, listeners are instantly taken back to a simpler, nostalgic time.  Reminiscent of the Euro-EDM era a few years back, ‘Ferris Wheel’ is a welcomed sonic upgrade, bringing the sound up to speed with Qwiet’s modern, club-ready vocals while borrowing tastefully from other music styles. This track could easily fit into a festival or sundowner party setting, as its slinky, smooth textures hark back to feelings of a relaxed euphoria.  You can almost see the neon lights of a ferris wheel glimmering as Qwiet coons, “the twinkle of the night” and “we get to do it again” over this indie electronic track. A real highlight of the song are the bouncy, light strings in the final breakdown of the song, which really tie in well with the track’s climax.  If you’re a fan of EDM, indie, alternative, funk, synth pop, electronica, new wave, experimental music and everything in between, you’ll probably have this on rotation. With big replay value, just like a ‘Ferris Wheel’, there’s a high chance that listeners will play this round, round and round. Hop on and take a listen to ‘Ferris Wheel’ now.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Qwiet Type, here is what he had to say:

Q&A with Qwiet Type

Did any real-life events occur in your life that influenced your latest release “Ferris Wheel”?

Yes, Ferris Wheel is a true story about one of my first dates with my now wife. We went to the county fair and the moment we got there I could feel a special energy in the air and between us. I could feel that things were about to change between us. Then, while on the ferris wheel, I knew she was about to change my life forever. And she did, we got married a month later!

Was there a pivotal moment when you decided to follow your path as a musician?

Yes, I was working 7 days a week as the owner of my entertainment company. We do production sound and lighting for weddings, parties and events. There was a hole in my soul that could no longer be ignored so I bought a drum set because I hadn’t played in years. Banging away on drums did not quite do the job so next thing I know I have built a home studio and writing song after song. Ive never been a songwriter or a singer so I never imagined my music was ever going to be heard, now approaching a million streams on Spotify in a year and I just can’t believe it!

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

Tough question, quite a few articles about me tend to talk about how I don’t stick to certain genres. Overall, I seem to fit in the indie alternative landscape with a touch of indie electro/indie pop. Lyrics tend to be in the inspirational realm, but starting to branch out from that a little bit.

Who are your biggest influences?

Since I love music from (most) all genres, it’s too hard to say, I think that’s why my music has hints of many genres in it.

I typically record the music/chords/melodies that’s in my head the best I can, then the mood of that music inspires the lyrics. So I guess I’m chicken before the egg?? lol

Who would you most like to collaborate with, if it could be anyone in the world?

Geez, I don’t know. I’ll just start naming some bands that come to mind. Glass Animals, Coldplay, Mike Snow, Portugal the Man, Beck, Cage the Elephant.

What is coming up next for you?

I have a new song “Ferris Wheel” Releasing 9/18/20 and we have another one that’s almost finished that we are VERY excited about coming out soon. As soon as it’s safe we will have our first live concert. Our first concert was cancelled due to Covid so we recorded the entire concert in a film studio that can be found on YouTube by searching Qwiet Type, Live in the Studio. But we can’t wait to play in front of a crowd!

What would you like to tell your supporters out there?

Stay tuned! We will be releasing songs about every month or two, then we will be putting on an incredible live performance with amazing eye candy production as soon as we can!
