“Option” – Kerry Kathleen

We had the pleasure of interviewing Kerry Kathleen, and here’s what she had to say:

Q: What was your inspiration for “Option”?

KATHLEEN: In the last few years, I decided I wanted to write female empowerment songs, coming from a place of hurt where I had to cut people out of my life that weren’t treating me right. This one was about Breadcrumbing.

Q: What were you going for when you set out to create this song and at what point did you feel ready to share it with the world?

KATHLEEN: This song to me was inspired by Dua Lipa and new rules. It’s about having confidence to say, I’m not going to put up with a half in half out type of relationship. I have standards. I hope women can relate and are inspired in some way.

Q: What effect would you like this song to have on listeners?

KATHLEEN: I want them to remember that they are a QUEEN and to never forget that. If people aren’t “hell yes” about us, we don’t want them. I want them to feel confident and sexy when they hear it & sing along.

Q: Is there anything you’d like to tell your supporters?

KATHLEEN: I love you & appreciate you more than you know.

Q: What do you like most about writing music?

KATHLEEN: Writing music is therapy & gives me a high unlike any other.

Q: What do you like the most about this song?

KATHLEEN: It’s just sexy- and a vibe!! The funky bass line, the harmonies and the fast catchy chorus. Mainly the badass empowering lyrics.
