Appeal To Authority – The Fog Of War

Usually, anti-war protest songs are crafted to be melodic doves of peace to blunt the harsh reality of battle. Appeal To Authority bucks that trend on “The Fog Of War,” unleashing their own artillery of rapid fire drums and stinging riffs.

IZPZ – love for hire

“love for hire,” by Singaporean singer-songwriter IZPZ, is a sentimental ballad about the mementos that become remnants of a dissolved relationship. IZPZ laments about these material reminders in the form of “pictures” and “t-shirts.”

Degrees – You Don’t Know What Love Is

“You Don’t Know What Love Is,” by Degrees, is part ambient instrumental, part shoegaze vocals. This track starts out in a gloomy murmur and crests two minutes in with a magnificent burst of dazzling synth.

Mere Stellar – The Crush Realm

More frustrating than the “friend zone,” “The Crush Realm” by Mere Stellar is an alt-pop dissection of dating app pen pals and commitment-phobes. Don’t think twice and swipe right on this incisive brand of pop.

Viab – No Reason

“No Reason,” by Viab, is a wistful piano ballad that features soaring vocals by the French singer. In addition, accents of jangles and poignant strings make an appearance to complete the mood.

Young Presley – Flower

If you’re looking for an early dose of springtime effervescence, look no further than “Flower” by indie pop artist Young Presley. “Flower” features the natural tranquility of acoustics, breezy synth and meditative bass lines.

Livvy D – Take A Number (Remix)

At first, Livvy D’s “Take A Number (Remix)” is punctuated by a quaking, bass-laden opener by rapper C4. Bernard. However, all of that is largely replaced by a snappy, playful beat that leads into the duo of Livvy D and Kenna Paige taking the reins.

Kevin Bradford – Behind Blue Eyes

Totally tubular 80’s synth pop reigns supreme on “Behind Blue Eyes” by Kevin Bradford. In addition, Bradford fully resonates as a suave vocalist.

Diamondz – Speed Dial

“Speed Dial,” by Diamondz, is a hypnotic hip-hop track that continually hits you with a deep, humming bass beat. In addition, “Speed Dial” is accented by tiptoeing synth effects that grace the melodic backdrop.

Anya Gupta – Yellow Roses

“Yellow Roses,” by singer-songwriter Anya Gupta, is a reflection on all the reminders of what it is to have loved and lost. It’s a song about wanting to move on, but, in the end, acknowledging how easy it is to slide back into missing them all over again.
