“moonlit dream” – Louie Lou Louis

Brooklyn, New York’s Louie Lou Louis’ angelic, smooth-like-butter vocals are showcased within his upcoming album, “moonlit dream.” The album, set to be released Friday, February 7th, is soulful and introspective, highlighting a new side of Louis. The album consists of nine uniquely special songs, with themes of community and identity, while also delving deep into Louis’ Haitian roots. Genre and culture-fusing elements make “moonlit dream” and Louie Lou Louis’ music so memorable.

The opening track, “po chokola,” is a beautifully sweet love song. The track opens with a fun-loving tune, with Louis’ old-school yet contemporary vocals adding a calming element. The loving lyrics, “I’m falling in love with your chocolate skin” and “we’re so proud to see that you’re thriving and growing into your own,” immediately draw love and admiration. The song is not a typical love ballad but is dedicated to Louis’ young nephew, a personal connection that highlights self-acceptance.

The following song, “paper planes,” takes a completely different turn from “po chokola”. It is a quiet tune that emphasizes Louis’ vocals, which are sung in an angelic, soprano tone for the majority of the track. “mango song,” a personal favorite, is a song about Louis’ connection to his heritage, specifically his memories of picking mangoes with his family. The music features a joyful, exuberant instrumental that mirrors the happiness of those moments.

A song like “monstre de saint-rémy,” which is already released, is an easy-listening, relaxing love song, while tracks like “stranger in town” and “where i come from” showcase Louis’ bluesy, soulful side. The final piece on the album, “teta’s song,” is a stripped-down, love ballad – Louis’ vocals have such a light shined on them, almost having an echo-like sound. This diverse range of musical styles will surely intrigue the audience, as there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Be sure to look for Louie Lou Louis’s upcoming album, “moonlit dream, ” which will be released on February 7th and will be available on major music streaming platforms.
