MIME – “Not In Love”

“Not In Love” – MIME is a vivacious Electro Pop/EDM track. Topped with edgy vocals from No1 Billboard singer/songwriter Jantine, this song takes us through many commercial synth-filled sections and comes in and out of the extremely catchy “not in love” melodic hook. The percussion is sparkling and the production is tasteful with sometimes having very thin layers, only to then catch us by surprise and burst back in full-blast. “Not In Love” embodies EDM classic buildups, lead synth music breaks, electrifying arpeggiators, heavy-driving synth bass, vocal effects, and powerful beat drops. New York-based producer and DJ on the rise MIME recently released “Not In Love” on August 25th, which features award-winning, platinum artist Jantine. He will soon be debuting “Not In Love” as an exclusive live set on SiriusXM’s broadcast of Electric Zoo this Friday, September 4th. It is amazing to discover this emerging independent electronic music artist who has been rapidly growing a loyal and passionate fan-base. Through his imprint AlterEGO, an independent label he started with his team, his hype has been building. His Instagram followers have more-than-doubled in the past year, his social media numbers gaining traction fast, and he has be forming flourishing connections with his fans. MIME is completely self-taught, and this sought-after producer has performed with some of thew word’s biggest DJ’s, including Marshmello, Benny Benassi and Tchami. He has also gained support from international superstars like Hardwell, Dillon Francis and Laidback Luke. Not only that, but be he has been making huge strides climbing the ranks of DJ culture with phenomenal performances around the world which include Shanghai, Las Vegas and New York. All in all, MIME has a fresh sound that blends dance and pop to perfection. He is definitely an artist on the rise to watch for in 2020.

I had the pleasure of interviewing MIME, and here is what he had to say:

Q&A with MIME

Your style is so vibrant and constantly changes into new exciting sections. What was your writing/recording process for “Not In Love”?

Thank you! when I was producing not in love I had actually started the idea 4 months prior, I was stuck in a little block while i was in the studio and circled back to some old projects when I found NOT IN LOVE & instantly got inspired and actually finished the track that same night!

If you might not mind sharing behind-the-scenes, how did you end up connecting with No1 Billboard singer/songwriter Jantine for this track?

To be honest I slid in the dm lol, I think that some people may over think on ways to reach out to vocalists they like but i find just dming them and getting friendly seems to work the best for me.

I see you have played with Marshmello and Benny Benassi. What would you say was your biggest takeaway from those experiences?

I noticed that the energy gets to a whole different level as soon as they get on, the connection they have with the fans and crowd is something that motivates me so much!

That is awesome that you are self-taught as a producer. Who have been the biggest influences on your music?

Thank you! and I get inspiration from so many different artists of all different genres, some of my favorites that really inspire me are Gorgon City, MK, Post Malone & Tame Impala to name a few!

Are there any new projects you are working on?

Yes a ton of new projects, actually working on my first album thats dropping in November thats gonna be filled with a ton of new originals that I’m really excited about.

What would you like to say to all your fans out there?

I want to say thank everyone so much for supporting and rocking with me thus far, so much more new music to come and fun projects, and I hope I can meet everyone on the dance floor in the next year or so.
