Listening to “Matter of Time” by Cy Thomas is like drinking a warm cup of lavender tea with honey in it — sweet, warm, and fragrant. The beautiful chord changes pull you in so tenderly as it harmonizes with Thomas’ soulful, honey coated vocals. If that’s not the kicker, the lyrics will tug at your heart strings as you realize that this is Thomas’ plea for connection; highlighting the universal feelings of struggling with unspoken love and the urgency to articulate complex emotions before time passes.
