When it comes to thinking, Amanda Jerlov is the first to admit she can go overboard, and it may have led her to not share the amazing song ideas spinning around in her head. Thankfully, she pushed the nerves aside and decided to share “Like You Do” with a producer because this is a song in one of my favorite genres, and that is the genre where you tell someone they ain’t worth anything but in a catchy pop manner.
Once I learned Amanda Jerlov was Swedish I thought, well…it is no wonder this amazing pop song came from her direction. For non-music geeks, Sweden is huge when it comes to pop songwriters. All those songs you loved at the tail end of the ‘90s by MTV favorites, many were penned by those of Swedish descent. So it appears as if Amanda Jerlov’s talents were destined to come out, and come out they have. “Like You Do” comes to life with melodic musical moments, but also has a bit of a bite lyrically much like Demi Lovato’s “Really Don’t Care.”
Her debut single, “One Not Two” already made waves earlier this summer both in Sweden and internationally, and there is no doubt “Like You Do” will follow that same path as it is a delight through and through. So those looking for a pop song that tells it like it is can check out “Like You Do” by Amanda Jerlov, out now on all major music and streaming platforms.
