“I’m Sorry, Are You?” – LEEPA

When LEEPA came into this world, there were strict lines drawn in the sand when it came to just about everything in our world, including musical genres. And whenever an artist happened to crossover like Garth Brooks when he went from a Country darling to a pop sensation, it was astounding. Today? Genre isn’t anything we particularly care about any more thanks to artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Billie Eilish, and now LEEPA. Her latest, “I’m Sorry, Are You?” intertwines elements of pop, alternative, and even a hint of emo with lyrical content that digs deep.

“Would you choose to be happy, if it meant that I’d stay?” is the question that kicks off this invigorating exploration brought to us by the 21-year-old dynamo. Lyrically, this song could be placed alongside anything Hayley Williams of Paramore has penned in recent years, but laying it over music that could fit onto a Dua Lipa record takes it to a new level. You get caught up in your feelings while at the same time find yourself moving your body like you are on the dancefloor of your favorite club. It’s that marriage of emotive writing and dance music that this new generation of artists is becoming known for, and I’m 100% here for it.

Honest to the core, LEEPA isn’t afraid to put the inner workings of her head and heart to song and because of that, listeners are reaping the benefits in that they’re getting era-defining music from a standout newcomer to the scene. Those interested in hearing what LEEPA is all about can check out “I’m Sorry, Are You?” now.
