“Fall Out Of Love” by Hotbeanwater is an emotionally stirring and vulnerable ballad that tells an all-too-real story of a couple remaining together even though they don’t feel the sparks anymore because they don’t know how to let go. We had the pleasure of interviewing Hotbeanwater, and here’s what they had to say:
Q: What did you enjoy most about creating “Fall Out Of Love”?
HOTBEANWATER: We wrote “Fall Out Of Love” while working on our EP “Caught Up In Life”. We took a month to work on new songs and refine existing ones. During the second week of this phase, we wrote: “Fall Out Of Love”. We knew that this song was going to be something special after we had the chords and the rough structure. As we added more elements to the song, our love for it grew. When Lovis, our singer, started recording the vocals, everyone in the studio had goosebumps. We put everything we had into this song and meticulously crafted every detail. Our goal with this song was to create a world where listeners can immerse themselves and forget about the outside world for a few minutes.
Q: I loved the raw vocals! What’s the story behind this song?
HOTBEANWATER: As mentioned before, we wrote “Fall Out Of Love” while working on our EP. On the day we made the song, we wanted to create a quieter track, as we had written more upbeat and uplifting songs in the days prior. Leve had the idea for the piano melody, and Lovis started to hum over it. Subconsciously, he came up with the line “First night of December”. The image, along with the melody and the piano, was so powerful that it captivated all the other band members.
Q: How long have you been making music? How’d you start?
HOTBEANWATER: Hotbeanwater as a band in its current formation was established in 2022. However, some of us have been in several bands before, but it became more serious with Hotbeanwater. Each one of us has been making music for many years with different preferences. For example, our drummer Kjell has been playing drums for 14 years and has fallen in love with jazz at the beginning. On the other hand, Elias, our guitarist, started playing guitar at the age of 4 and looked up to rock music legends such as Slash when he was a kid. Due to the many different musical influences that we bring, we are able to create a unique sound world.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve received as musicians?
HOTBEANWATER: Never stop creating.
Q: What are your other interests outside music?
HOTBEANWATER: To be honest, not a whole lot. Whenever we’re doing something other than music, we always find a way to tie it back to music. Elias, for example, is a big film buff, but even when he’s watching movies or TV shows, he likes to try and play along with the theme music while he’s watching.
Q: What is one thing you’re really looking forward to achieving musically this year?
HOTBEANWATER: We’re all about playing live shows as much as possible. Last year was amazing for us as we got the opportunity to play four sold-out gigs and perform as the pre-act for over 7000 people. On top of that, we also did some fun flashmob-style performances on the street, in subways, and even on pedal boats every weekend during the summer. This year, we’re determined to exceed our success from last year. We’re also extremely excited about our debut EP, “Caught Up In Life,” which is set to release on June 23rd, 2023. It features six incredible tracks, and our next single, “If I Were You,” will be out on May 26th. It’s shaping up to be an incredible year for us!
