“Don’t Wait” by Reign

Rising artist Reign delivers atmospheric, electronic-inspired music with introspective lyrics that take his listeners through the ups and downs of life. He explores the depths of his inner strength, honesty, and love with “Don’t Wait,” an achingly intimate and stirring piece. We had the pleasure of interviewing Reign, and here is what he had to say:

Q: What is it about “Don’t Wait” that inspried you to kick off the year with this song?

REIGN: “Don’t Wait” is the start of another sound that I’m really excited to explore and continue to allow my music to grow into. To orbit without limits.

Q: “If you love me, say it, don’t wait on me,” YOU SING IN THE CHORUS. WHAT DOES THIS INVITATION MEAN TO YOU

REIGN: It means that time waits for no one, not being afraid to tell someone you love them.

Q: I can’t help but feel a massive infulence of soul sound throughout this song. What attracted you toward you toward this style?

REIGN: My native roots; the African and Caribbean in me bring the soul to my sound. Not allowing any limitations and having the ability to dig deeper within.

Q: Can you tell us more about the creative process of making previous songs and the stories behind them?

REIGNI channeled my life experiences through music. I often found myself facing odd challenges but my guidance kept me grounded enough to persevere. Music became an outlet for my thoughts and emotions so when I get into the studio it all just flows out of me naturally.

Q: How do you feel like your projects has helped you grow as an artist?

REIGNEvery step of the process has been a learning process that contributed to my personal and artistic growth. With every song I create, I push myself to do better than the last. I know that practice makes perfect.

Q: Do you have any influences you would like to collaborate with on your future projects?

REIGN: I would love to work with Sampha. He’s a musical god. So if he ever comes across this article, tell him to link me asap!
