Jules & The Howl’s powerful feminist anthem “Boys Club” was just released on 01/31/2025!
“Boys Club” is a glam rock track with modernized influences that’s delivered with a rush of energy. The intro chorus of this track sets the stage well, the first second introducing the anthemic power vocals. This second is quickly cut in with thrashy guitar and bass drum hits that take control of the tempo. As this single works with a powerful message, this punch at the start is the perfect way to establish its importance.
After the intro vocals, the guitars jump into a quick fingerpick and fast cymbals that are intersected with the kick drum. After this, the first verse cuts in, and the pacing holds itself with speed. But then, the vocals cut in alone for a moment and then play back and forth with the instrumentation. This does great at sharing the fire and passion of the single as a whole. It breaks away from the verse, chorus, repeat commonality in music, putting exciting twists and turns between the choruses and verses. The vocals in the chorus give a sort of chant to work things around, asking those listening to use their voice, “to stand up, burning down the boys club.”
As the chorus displays, lyrically, this track represents an ask for rebellion against the patriarchy. On top of that, it shares the beauty and power of womanhood. It works with creative lyricism Such as, “I am anything but weak, breaking walls and making history,” and “Kick my heel through the glass ceiling, burning down everything, can you hear me.” Not only does it show the beauty that women have, it shares that they deserve a space in society due to their power, intelligence, and talent.
