Tara Hack from New York is a singer, songwriter, and musician who is currently releasing her debut album in the form of singles. “Bounce” gives you a roll bounce and an anthemic pop feel. We had the pleasure of interviewing Tara Hack and here is what she had to say:
Q: Hi Tara and welcome to the Music and Fashion Blog! Please introduce yourself and tell us all a bit about yourself?
TARA: Hi, my name is Tara Hack and I am a singer/songwriter/musician from New York
Q: Let’s talk about your newest single, “Bounce.” It makes me want to grab my skates with the roll-bounce feel it gives. What was the inspiration for this song? How does it compare to anything else you have released?
TARA: I am really happy that the song makes you feel that way. It’s funny that you mentioned that because I follow Nile Rodgers on social media and noticed that he posts a lot of skating videos. I guess that was sort of the inspiration for that song: just a fun, happy dance song. It’s unlike anything I’ve done in the past and I have to say that I really love this upbeat direction.
Q: Where do you think you are the happiest- in the studio recording new music, on stage performing or elsewhere?
TARA: I am happy when I am performing, whether that be in the studio or on stage. Music is like meditation for me. It helps me stay grounded.
Q: How did it feel being on the Thursday Night Special? Are you a football fan and if so who’s your favorite team?
TARA: It was amazing. In terms of American football, I don’t know that I have a particular team per se. In terms of English football, I’ve always been a fan of Manchester United.
Q: What musicians have really inspired you since you first started making music? Who would you still love to work with?
TARA: Coldplay has been a huge inspiration for me. I would really love to work with Chris Martin.
Q: I see you’re an acoustic goddess on guitar. How did the story of this instrument begin?
TARA: Thank you very much for the compliment. I’ve always had toy guitars around as a kid and always loved singing. I never really thought of putting the two together and then started seeing all these female musicians doing that, and it kind of evolved from that.
