Last year Dominik Klein went all in and released his debut EP, ‘Reflections,’ and from that was a cascade of stunning, powerful, vocal-driven pop that illuminates from the press of play. That includes his single, “Borders,” which we’re about to put in the spotlight.
There is no denying that Dominik Klain has pipes, on pipes, on pipes. When he gives you that hook of “Borders,” it’s impossible not to feel it deep within your soul. It’s one of those songs that will catch your attention on the radio, much like an Adele track. However, his style doesn’t quite fall in line with that Grammy-winner. Although I could hear them on the same station, for sure. No, when I heard “Borders,” my mind went to artists like Daniel Powter and Five For Fighting. Those singer-songwriters that have this balance of indie, pop, heart, and charm all rolled up into one. With that, “Borders” is a song that can be appreciated by an array of listeners with its mainstream, Top 40 appeal.
Growing up, Dominik Klein wasn’t treated as fairly as a child should be. Picked on for his shy demeanor and love of music, he continued to find solace in creating. Who knew that one day it’d be the foundation for a future. He dropped his debut alongside Kongsted in 2019 when their collaboration, “Stand Up Stand Out!” was the official Handball World Cup song that year. After that, Dominik continued to build upon that foundation and in 2021, ‘Reflections’ was released.
