“Band-Aid” – Felicia Lu

There was absolutely no pain greater as a child than a band-aid that needed to come off. I’d wait weeks, watching it slowly lose its grasp. So when Felicia Lu created a whole song about the end of a relationship and named it “Band-Aid,” I could see the parallels. Only instead of waiting for things to fizzle, this powerful new single is about having the strength to just get it over with swiftly.

Felicia Lu comes through with a powerful performance in “Band-Aid.” The verses are subtle while the choruses allow for those bigger moments for her vocals to take center stage and have the appropriate spotlight. Lyrically, “Band-Aid” delivers with the symbolism but in a straightforward way. There is no dancing around the concept. It’s one of those songs you hear in passing and immediately get, and some may resonate with because relationships are our commonality in life. “Band-Aid” feels like the perfect fit for those who are already enamored with the likes of Halsey and Tove Lo. Those who like their pop with a bit of bite.

When it comes to delivering, Felicia Lu has been doing so since dropping her debut single, “Lost at Night” back in 2015. Since then she’s been steadily working her way to the top with a pair of EPs, and a cascade of singles including a handful in 2022 that include “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” and “Wish You Well.” With “Band-Aid” being her latest offering to the world, it’d be wise to dig in and hope for more. To hear all of the above and then some, make sure to check out Felicia Lu on all major music and streaming sites today.
