Artist Interview: “Get Out My Head” by Victor Vain

Q: Get Out My Head’ is extremely catchy to listen to. Can you tell us what the song is about?

VICTOR: Have you ever broke up with someone but couldn’t get this person out of your head?

The song is about the struggle of getting rid of that former special one who is attached to your life like a tattoo. You see, hear and smell that person everywhere and just want them to leave.

But instead of a sad song I’ve simply tried to replace the negative thoughts with a house beat and some appropriate vocals to create a positive hymn.

Q: Can you tell us what your songwriting process is like?

VICTOR: The mood of the day influences the vibe of my songs. Usually I feel comfortable with a higher bmp.

It all starts with the beat to transport the message of the song. The next step is to create the melody. Once this is done I combine it with the lyrics.

From my window I have an inspiring look of some old oak trees in front of my house. If I am stuck with a production I simply sit down and watch the trees moving in the wind. Usually that helps.

Q: What was one of your favorite moments while creating ‘Get Out My Head’?

VICTOR: It took like forever to get that hook perfectly mixed. After a couple of weeks when I succeeded I was really happy. To celebrate that I opened a bottle of wine. After that I caught my self singing the song  e.g. when I was at the gym, at work or with friends.  I knew this was a good sign and I should release this track.

Q: How has living in Germany influenced you and your music?

VICTOR: I started making music during Corona Times and created this song during lockdown. Germany was really strict with regulations so it was kind of my thing not to go insane.

Frankly I am more inspired by UK music.

Q: Who are some of your biggest inspirations?

VICTOR: I really like the music of MNEK and The Weeknd. I would call it: Happy vibing Pop Sound.

Q: What do you have planned for the future?

VICTOR: I have some new releases planned and I am in the middle of creating new songs as well.

I try not to focus on one genre too much. In fact I also love pop and electro vibes, too.

But have a look of yourselves and listen to my other tracks. 🙂
