“Sitting Alone Suite” – Kramer

Although not a stranger to the music world, Kramer is making his artist debut on his EP Sitting Alone Suite. Kramer is a Grammy-Winning composer, working with J Ivy on the Grammy-Winning Album The Poet Who Sat by The Door.

The project opens with “Sitting Alone In Carmel,” a beautiful instrumental, that really captures the beauty and skill of Kramer’s composing. He weaves violins, drums, and pianos in a way that feels grand yet intimate. It is captivating to listen to for every moment. Kramer took his overall inspiration by the beauty of nature, and how it can turn violent in a second’s notice.

The next track is “Alignment,” which is more of a jazzy pop song. Kramer has a voice like Jimmy Cliff and Calvin Harris, very conversational and smooth. This song oozes with confidence and is a perfect connecting piece to the next song. It is obvious Kramer had a vision for this project as a whole and that is always refreshing to see

“Sitting Alone” is a song that blends the sounds of the first two tracks — having this softness and introspectiveness while also having a feel-good vibe. The instrumentals in this are overall epic and give this bigger-than-self feeling. “Getting called in future’s dreams, trapped in the past,” shows Kramer struggling with staying in the present moment.

When talking about the inspiration for this song, Kramer shares, “The words are a plea to people to think for themselves, and not allow automated content curation cloud their judgment, create fear, create anger, and ultimately create physical conflicts in the form of mass shootings, hate crimes, and the like. I hope the message gets heard.”

Overall, Kramer proves that he can take his work as an award-winning composer and weave it into modern pop/jazz. This EP has so much to say, and Kramer has such a unique and fun way of saying it. So go listen to Sitting Alone Suite and be on the lookout for future releases
