“STAND WITH YOU.” – KONG.

We had the pleasure of interviewing KONG., and here’s what he had to say:

Q: What drives you to create music?

KONG.: Being able to express my deepest feelings and thoughts in a way that helps me process them while also reaching others who may feel the same and hopefully, helping them as well.

Q: At what point did you decide that you want to be a musician? Why?

KONG.: At 8 years old, I was playing clarinet very sadly in the backyard because my parents would not let my friend come over. Expressing my pain and sadness through the instrument was helping me process the feelings. Then my mother came outside and told me my friend could come over after all, and I realized in that moment that expressing emotion through music affected me and others. Music was the power to change things for the better. I don’t think I ever looked back after that.

Q: I thought the message was lovely! What does “STAND WITH YOU” mean to you?

KONG.: I believe that love and acceptance can outweigh the differences we have as people. For me personally, finding love and acceptance for others has really helped me find it for myself too.

Q: What impact do you hope to have with your music?

KONG.: I hope my music will inspire others to be their best selves. To open up and be vulnerable with themselves and others. To love themselves and others equally. To feel free to move and laugh and enjoy life while also working hard to make themselves and the world a better place.

Q: What do you enjoy most about being a musician and what do you think is a not-so-great aspect of it?

KONG.: I love writing and singing from the heart. I love to make people feel something and sing along with me and move freely and open up with me. Sometimes it can be hard to feel free and to bring that out in the KONGREGATION. but it’s a worthy challenge that I try to prepare mentally, physically and spiritually before every performance.

Q: What is one thing you’re really looking forward to achieving this year?

KONG.: I want to perform as much as possible for as many people as possible and to continue releasing music that embodies my beliefs and values. I can’t wait to meet more people who enjoy being part of the KONGREGATION.
