“Wild One” – Samuel Jack

With more than half a dozen EPs to his name, Samuel Jack has been satisfying the audible needs of fans around the world for several years. So it’s not surprising that he is continuing that hot streak with his latest featuring the wildcard on the record, “Wild One.”

When you listen to the record siblings of “Wild One” you find a very different tone. It feels more in line with his previous 2022 release alongside DAZZ and Zombic, “I Want You Around.” However, they are all rooted in romance. It is just that “Wild One” gives you that little burst of energy that artists like Lizzo say is necessary for the start of any album. Samuel Jack delivers on that as it only takes a few lines before “Wild One” starts to ramp up, eventually building into this pop meets alternative meets house moment. In many ways, I could hear this song on a playlist alongside the likes of Imagine Dragons.

That being said, it is the standout track from the EP for that reason. That is not to say the others fall behind. Oh no, quite the opposite. “Wild One” is like a vibrant dessert while songs like “Time to Heal” and the absolutely stunning “Carry You Through” are main course delights. Samuel Jack proves his versatility as an artist while showcasing that beautiful set of pipes that have led him this far.
