“Close” – NIGHTBREAKERS

As the dust settled on the emo scene around 2009, a new wave started to take shape. Bands like Forever The Sickest Kids and The Summer Set brought pop-rock with an edgy bite to the table and many ate it up. Sadly, those bands are no more but filling the hole they left in our hearts is Florida’s NIGHTBREAKERS. Their 2021 ‘Feelings’ EP is stellar, and if you need proof just check out “Close.” Fair warning, you’ll want to consume the rest of the EP soon after.

Again, “Close” is that song that fails to grow old. Remember the first time you heard Jonas Brothers “Sucker” and how it still managed to make you move and groove the millionth time you played it? Well, you can finally replace that with this one from “Close.” This is what mainstream radio was meant for, and a reminder that there are still artists out there willing to create songs like this, perfect pop songs that slay from the press of play.

NIGHTBREAKERS incorporate electronic moments as well as hints of hip hop into their power-pop performance. So much goes into their overall sound, it makes them the type of band that could get on a variety of stages and win any crowd over. Whether it be opening for the aforementioned Jonas Brothers, or headed out on tour with the likes of pop-punk darlings, All Time Low. No matter where you put this band of five, they’re going to impress.

“Close” is off their 2021 EP, ‘Feelings,’ and both are available now on all major music and streaming platforms.
