“Hot Now” – Anna Thompson

Summertime back in the day meant watching daytime talk shows well into lunch, and one of the absolute best topics was the “Look At Me Now” ones. These often featured someone who was not a standout growing up but who had what we call today a glow-up. Oh, how I wish daytime TV like that still existed because “Hot Now” by Anna Thompson would be used on an endless cycle as it’s the ultimate anthem for anyone who was looked down on and/or teased as a kid.

For Anna Thompson, “Hot Now” isn’t necessarily all about the physical glow up, but the success one can attain after graduation. No matter how you’ve improved since the days of school bus rides and homework, anyone who was teased or ignored then but is doing better now can attest to this song. What’s great about this track is that while it has a universal undertone that way too many of us can relate to, Anna Thompson was still able to pen her personal journey.

A journey that points a finger at those who did her wrong in the past, but also those who are doing the same in the present. Having almost 100k people enthralled by her TikTok, it’s no surprise that she’s been able to go viral more than once. With that, comes attention from this place and that and sometimes, attention leads to counterfeit people who just want to hang around for the wrong reasons. Anna Thompson calls all of the above out in this fierce pop track.

“How Now” by Anna Thompson is available now on all major music and streaming sites.
