“Wishing Well” by Mark Pulsipher

Mark Pulsipher brings an extremely raw and durable experience for his audience during his newest release. “Wishing Well” is a song about all the emotions that humans face daily. The song changes beats from talking about hope to talking about grief and sheds light on how we all are coping with the same thing.

“Wishing Well” is Mark Pulsipher’s way of dealing with his personal battle with loss and love. This song is meant to serve as a way to understand the past while trying to wish for the future. His simple acoustic approach really brings the most life to the lyrics.

His storytelling journey is strong and apparent, leaving a truthful string of moments for the listener to hold onto. Mark Pulsipher is not afraid to be brutally honest about his emotions and does this in a graceful way.

The Instrumentation arrangements are filled with acoustic loops that help the words become the main focus. His stagnant and monotone vocals work cohesively to give the listener a song that feels like it will never end. This gives the listener time to really understand the lyrics and connect with them on a deeper level.

I commend Mark Pulsipher for putting his most honest feelings on the page and turning it into a song that can connect with so many. This approach at songwriting is what makes a song more honest and easy to resonate with. It also helps the audience put themselves into the artist’s viewpoint and overall creates a stronger feeling when listening to the words.

“Wishing Well” is truly composed by some meaningful moments.
