“Big Girl Words” – Honey Ironic

When I first turned on “Big Girl Words” by Honey Ironic, my first thought was I didn’t know that Olivia Rodrigo and Taylor Swift had a love child!! The alternative pop, upbeat instrumentals worked so well with the moments where Ironic was speaking into the song. There’s a defiance in her voice, a determination to prove her worth in the eyes of those who are older and doubt her and break free from the confines of others’ expectations. Ironic demands to be taken seriously and treated with respect, and dives headfirst into the frustrations of youth, railing against the patronizing attitudes of those who still sees her as a child. If you feel frustrated and confined in the box of others opinions and need to just have a release, turn on “Big Girl Words” to really let your truth be recognized.
