“10 Things” – Chloe Lilac

When you are someone of a particular age, the phrase “10 Things” just holds a special place in your heart. This is because there is something well, pretty much perfect about teen movies from the late ‘90s and early ‘00s, with Heath Ledger’s ‘10 Things I Hate About You’ being a top three favorite of many. So when I pressed play on “10 Things” by Chloe Lilac, I was nervous. Would it hold up to the iconic teen flick? After listening on repeat, I can say – it does its namesake proud.

While the movie should never be remade by any means, a future teen movie that wanted to pay homage to its elder could take Chloe Lilac’s super chic pop take on someone she could not stand. Movies aside, this is a song that anyone who has broken up with someone who was basically the worst can relate to from start to finish. On top of lyrically connecting to many, musically this song is pitch-perfect throughout. It has this really fun beat that does not overwhelm but just hits right. When everything aligns as it does in “10 Things,” expect a huge hit.

“10 Things” is the first single since Chloe Lilac impressed both fans and critics with her sophomore 2020 release, ‘Douchebag.’ Since then, all of the above have been patiently waiting for what was coming next. Now the wait is finally over because her new single, “10 Things,” is available now on all major music and streaming sites.
