“Unpredictable” – Lerocque

Inspiration comes from every which way, and for Lerocque it’s all about the aquatics. Diving underneath the surface of the sea brings him his best ideas. So one has to wonder what body of water Lerocque found himself in when he came up with “Unpredictable” as most of his ideas come to life in the depths of the sea. Listeners will find his first single of 2022 as motivating on land as its New Wave meets modern-day electropop sweeps you away at the press of play.

The first thing that stuck out to me was Lerocque’s vocals. They served Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode but with a heavy pop influence. So they had the strength and sultriness of Gahan but were not as menacing as I’d say the ‘80s powerhouse can sometimes be. That 1980’s adjacent charm intertwined with choruses made for movement made for a great listen. Especially given that lyrically, this song is a lesson that is needed more now than ever before and that’s to make those moves today and forgo the wait because that’s just time wasted.

Ever since dropping his debut, “Perfect,” in 2017, Lerocque has been pushing forward with new releases. Not a year’s gone by that he hasn’t treated the world to his styling that truly allows everyone to find something as Lerocque doesn’t believe in allowing genre to stifle his creative flow. In 2021 this musical wonder released a handful of singles, including the predecessor to “Unpredictable,” “Blood.”
