“Tip Toes” – DYLVN

We had the pleasure of interviewing DYLVN, and here’s what he had to say:

Q: How has your 2023 been so far and what’s one thing you’re really looking forward to doing this year?

DYLVN: Has been amazing so far! Met so many dope people since the beginning of the year around LA // doing sessions! Can’t wait to start playing this EP live for the world!

Q: What was your creative process for “Tip Toes”?

DYLVN: Well John Samuel had this dope-ass guitar riff that was really spicy in the archives… was bold and seemed like it hit a different soundscape… we were feeling confident that day and just went for it. As soon as we started getting the jams going and melodies, John Samuel went ham on the live drums, built out the track and we hammered away on the writing. Ended up finishing this thing in a pretty short timeframe. He definitely pushed me to some higher heights vocally on this one, which I feel has set the tone for me in records hereafter.

Q: How would you like listeners to respond to it?

DYLVN: I want them to be like “WHAT IS THIS VIBE SANCTUARY I HAVE COME ACROSS?!” I want them to feel some sort of relatability and comfort when hearing something that’s so real to me. If not that is totally fine too! Ha ha… but if they take sanctuary in the music I have written, just like I have… then that is amazing.

Q: What do you like the most about being able to create music?

DYLVN: Being in the presence of creating something that has never been created before… and most of all letting out all of my emotions. Music is my vice to control it all emotionally.

Q: Is there anything else you could see yourself doing full-time if you weren’t a musician?

DYLVN: At this moment, I feel like there’s only option A!

Q: What does your roadmap for the rest of the year look like pertaining to your music career?

DYLVN: Making tons of new music and playing as many shows as possible! Can’t wait to keep growing this family until we can tour the world!
