Then you realize it is because would anyone other than Heather Sommer have delivered it as well as she does? Every aspect of this song was perfect from Heather’s performance to the narrative to the arrangement. While Heather Sommer displays her self-doubt for all to hear in this song, the irony is that she created a singer-songwriter’s dream with it at the same time.

More than likely not because we typically tend to be our own worst enemy due to a cascade of insecurities that keep our minds whirling about. “THE WAY A FRIEND WOULD” captures all of that and then some wonderfully and is one of those songs that if you haven’t heard of Heather Sommer before hearing it – will make you backtrack and listen to everything that came before it as her voice comes through with a sweet conviction.
