“Sponté” – Wildlife Control

We had the pleasure of interviewing Wildlife Control, and here’s what they had to say:

Q: How did you create this tune? Did the tune form with the lyrics or was it something that came together in bits and pieces?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: The melody and lyrics came to me almost all at once, or sponté.

Q: What was the inspiration for “Sponté”?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: My friend Iqram and I were talking about the speed of life. We were joking around and made up this word, sponté to signify spontaneity and living in the moment.

Q: What did you enjoy the most about creating this song?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: The melody is so versatile that we went through 4 or 5 different arrangements and production styles before arriving at the recording for the single. I still enjoy playing this song in many different ways, with different instruments.

Q: How are you hoping listeners will respond to this song?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: As with any Wildlife Control song, I hope listeners connect with the melody, find themselves humming it in the middle of the day or night, and find their own meaning in the lyrics.

Q: Which artist would you say has had a significant influence on your sound?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: The Beatles. So versatile stylistically and so melodic.

Q: What would you like to say to your supporters?

WILDLIFE CONTROL: A big thank you. Connecting with people through music means everything to me. Much more music on the way.
