same old story – Jason LaPierre x mokina

It’s raining on a Sunday morning, you’re curled up in a ball, looking outside your window while sipping a hot cup of tea. What’s playing in the background? Why it’s “same old story” by Jason LaPierre x mokina, a low-fi pop, chill song about the patterns we might go through in a relationship cycle. The lyrics portray a person that feels traped in a cycle of hope for their relationship, only to end up becoming dissapointed because it ends up being a “same old story.” While this song sounds melancholic lyrically, instumentally the song isn’t as sad, thanks to the smooth jazz undertones provided by the horns in the background. It will make you feel as if you’re in a super laid-back listening session, looking up at the sky on an average day, reflecting and/or daydreaming about everything from life, to love.
