“Party in Bombay” – Sitara feat. Saahel

Selena helped usher in Spanish in the 90s, BTS has done it with Korean in recent years, but now Sitara is hoping to bring Hindi to the mainstream in the US, Europe, and beyond with her debut, “Party in Bombay” featuring Saahel.

This Los Angeles-based pop singer wanted to highlight her Indian heritage in her debut single, and was also inspired by the likes of Shakira’s Columbian sounds. With that, Sitara made a song that showcases a lot of movement. The music is this beautiful marriage between cultures and styles, and the moments where Hindi is incorporated, the icing on top of a great electro-pop meets world sound. It doesn’t hurt that Sitara had the talented Saahel by her side on this one as well.

Musically, this song does have a lot of worldly elements that make it stand out among its peers, but it did have many moments that reminded me of hitmakers that have already made their mark over the years on US charts. Of course, there’s Shakira, but I also found myself thinking about Kesha as well as Sitara’s delivery reminded me of the “Tik Tok” singer’s party vibe. Which makes all the sense in the world when singing about a “Party in Bombay.”

For those who like to move and shake to their pop music, check out “Party in Bombay” by Sitara featuring Saheel, out now on all major music and streaming sites, and keep an eye out for more to come from this rising star in the new year.
