“Middle Of Your Mess” by Charm of Finches is such a soul-stirring, ethereal indie-pop song that comments on the complexities of female relationships, wrapped in a hauntingly beautiful melody. It reminds me so much of the band, “The Bird and the Bee,” where they also incorporated siren-like harmonic vocals in the background to really bring forth the allure that emanates from the lyrics. There is also jealousy and betrayal in between the lines, but it is overshadowed by the steely resolve to break free from the toxic cycle and reclaim agency over one’s own narrative. Definitely give “Middle Of Your Mess” by Charm of Finches a spin if you are looking for dreamy vocals with very thought-provoking lyrics accompanying it.
