“Let It Shine” by James Hersey

In James Hersey’s attempt to work through his relationship with depression and grief, he creates a masterpiece for his listeners to resonate with.

Through his lyrics, “Stepping into the daylight/ tired of wasting my whole life/ take it back like it’s all mine/ let it shine”, his audience is able to go on a deeper lyrical journey with the artist.

Not only is this song inspiring to those who suffer with mental health, but it does so in a way that reassures his listeners that we can turn trauma into something beautiful.

In “Let it Shine”, James is doing indie rock right. It’s hard not to get lost in the melodic genius of this song. This song felt like musical therapy and I simply can’t wait to hear more from him.
